Hello HCSE,

Congratulations! You all played very well last friday. I received praises of our performance being very 'cool' and 'chio', so its double thumbs up for all of you:)

I know promos prep is getting everyone on their nerves, but before you all launch into wholesale mugging.. let me update you about our next important event: Open House '07!

Date: 12 Oct 07 (venue of our booth's location has yet to be confirmed).

There is still time left for us to do the necessary preparations, but we should get the whole plan done up before promos, so that we can make final arrangements, shop/get our necessary items etc straight away after promos. We will only have a couple of days then to get everything ready.

I'll like to highlight some points from the open house working committee's proposal for now; more details will be released at a later date, so keep checking the blog :)

We will have a few forms of publicity on that day:
1) Station Publicity
2) Mobile Publicity
3) Advertisement Gimmicks

Station Publicity
This will through the booth that we will be given on that day. The main features will include
-HCSE banner
-Speakers to play music (similar to what the 06 batch did for CCA orientation this year if you all were there)
-Sign up lists (since it is open house, we can include those who are interested in joining strings if they come to HC, and ask them to contact us after their prelims since admission will not be verified till then. through this, we can help appeal for more to get in to HC via strings)
-Table cloth
-Mounting board with details of HCSE (general information, achievements, past involvements, future plans, comments from members, wacky photos etc)
-Basket of sweets

To do up before promos: banner, sign up list, details to be pasted on mounting board

Anyone with designs for banner can always contribute! The duties for the rest will be allocated later.

Mobile Publicity
This will include having people to go around during open house to make our booth known to others (so hopefully more will visit our booth). It will also be to promote HCSE to others.

To do before promos: collate suggestions for different forms of mobile publicity (eg having people like albert and guanhui walking around with huge signs wrung around them publicising our booth etc)

Anyone with suggestions please contribute too!

Advertisement gimmicks
This will be the usual, issuing of mini goodie bags/information cards about HCSE (the information stated should be more of 'fun' facts rather than the official ones.

To do before promos: plan materials to buy and write out 'fun' facts

Anyone with suggestions of materials or ideas/fun facts please contribute!


Also, we have to finalise the performance details. I thought it'd be quite nice if we'd had a quartet or so performing at certain times and hopefully it will attract more onlookers:) This will be finalised by the music comm. However the participation in the actual performance will include everyone in the ensemble.

I came up with another suggestion: to have a notebook at the booth showing videos clips of our past peformances/wacky videos, or have a slide show of HCSE photos, what do you all think?
