HEY people -grinz-
blocks are coming so hope all of you are prepared? =)
i've spotted some regular "tenants" in the strings room mugging WAHAHAH. k, i'm not gonna say who the TWO people are but wellz. -grinz-
ANYWAY. i've googled on some ways to de-stress before exam!!! =D
here are TEN ways to de-stress before a test =D
erm. i've never exactly tried all of them and i totally like counteract option no. ten but ah wellz. HAHa...hope you guys get this before the exams!!! -erps- LOL
GOOD LUCK FOR BLOCKS =D10)
Study: There is absolutely no way to pass a test without it. However this does not mean last minute jamming until 2:00 am the night before. The way to study is in waves…think calming ocean breezes, relaxing in the
sun with your Intro to sociology
(wazzat o.0) book in you lap. I’m kidding what I really mean is don’t do all your studying at once. Do it in chunks of one-two hours with half hour brain numbing breaks in between. Start well before the big day. I recommend two weeks minimum.
(alamak too late le lah) Set aside time that’s just for studying and nothing else
(i'm so sure) . Study your whole way through a chunk, non-stop and then TAKE A BREAK and do something that has nothing to do with studying for a half and hour. I recommend a bath, play a video game, call a friend,
yoga (zomg), cat-nap
(why call it a cat nap o.0), have a snack, etc. The key here is to rest your brain. Don’t even think about the material until the half hour is over.
9)
Make studying more fun. I once heard that the only way for you to really remember something is to actually have the desire to remember it, in other words memory is created by an active desire to remember. If you make it fun and interesting, your much likely to remember it. Make some flash cards, grab a sibling or a roommate and play your own version of jeopardy, or 20 questions, family feud, what ever it takes.
(by mi, p(1) is true and p(k) is true => p(k+1) is also true therefore p(n) is true for all positive integers that can be n o.0)8) If you haven’t made flash cards or a summery study guide, you should and take it with you on the go. When ever you are on the train, bus, waiting in line, just pull out your study guide and put in five to ten minutes, the
constant re-enforcement of the material will help you to remember it.
7) Get a
study-buddy. This is related to making studying more fun, if you’re laughing over Fraud’s strange theories involving oral fixation
(zomg wat's that) with a group of friends from your class, or trying to pick out a logarithm with the help of your significant other
(AHEM*), you’ll be having more fun
(suuurrrre a lot of fun indeed) and thus the memory will stick much easier causing less stress.
6) Take time to visualize. If you believe it, it will happen. The night before your test, or in the shower the morning before take to time to
visualize your self doing well on the test. (YES I CAN GET 5 As FOR BTs!)Picture your self bent over the paper and knowing each of the answers, imagine the look on your mom’s face when you show her the “A”. Athletes often do this before a big game, besides, it can’t hurt any…
5)
Go to bed early the night before the test.
(yeapyeap)I recommend an hour earlier than you usually do. A good nights sleep will help you focus better tomorrow.
4) Have
breakfast the day of the test. It’s hard to concentrate when you’re hungry, also breakfast provides you with nutrients that will give you energy to keep your body and your brain active.
(YES. FOOD IS VERY IMPT =D)3)
Reward your self for your efforts. Make plans to get a movie
(YES DEFINITELY. darn i think i missed orlando bloom already. sighx.) and ice cream after the test. Don’t let it distract you, but let it be something you can look forward to after all the work you’ve done.
2)
Brain drain before you begin. Ask for a blank piece of paper, or flip the test over and drain every thing you can think of regarding what you studied on to the page. Key-words, theories, formulas you just know you might forget, this way you can use this brain drain as reference. It also allows you to gather your thoughts before you conquer the complicated confusing word problem that
makes you forget you even learned math in the first place(WAHAHAHAHAHA). 1) And the number 1 thing you can do to destress before your test, is to
relax and take a deep breaths. It’s not the end of the world if you get a B
(huh, but i think i'll be happy if a get a b for physics hahahaha), and besides if you did half the items on this list you had to have been doing something right, and never underestimate the odds of multiple choice…just kidding. But relax you’ll do fine!
(er, i dun get the joke)yeap yeap! haha, hope this helped LOL...
Good Luck for blocks!!! =) may all of you pass with flying colours. =D

hey guys,
well, our next cip opportunity is here!
details:
9-17 june, 11am-7pm
pick one date, pick a time slot (eg. 11am-3pm)
ngee ann city, far east, liat towers
we'll be there to perform, and do canning (collect money). but this is a busking kind of thing so we cant play full orchestra stuff with all 41 of us. how we did it last year was people formed their own quartet and came up with their own repertoire, then take turns to play. i think this time we'll do the same thing, maybe not quartet, but octet etc. we have nice repertoire in the strings room, plus stuff like tchaik and warlock and grieg, so should turn out fine. people who are not performing will get the same number of cip hours to be canners.
if you are interested,
**1) find other people who are interested!
2) find repertoire that can fill about 15 minutes.
3) practise so that the pieces are presentable
4) settle attire
lets give ourselves today and tomorrow to think over it, and possibly make our quartets/octets. saturday i'll post again and get your responses. meanwhile, if anyone has any questions, or have confirmed a group prematurely, feel free to let me know in advance.
sorry guys, been multitasking alot of stuff so this post might not make perfect sense (:
